One of my favourite features in Rekordbox DJ is the sampler and sequencer performance modes. The video tutorial below explains how to use them both effectively. The sampler and sequencer are found on Rekordbox DJ enabled controllers, such as the DDJ 400, 800, 1000, DDJ RB, DDJ RR, DDJ RX, DDJ RZ, DDJ RZX & DDJ XZ.

Rekordbox Sampler & Sequencer Tutorial

Learn how to set up and use the sampler and sequencer within Rekordbox DJ.

Rekordbox Sampler & Sequencer Ideas

This first idea takes the samples in the tutorial video above and applies them into a mix. You can bridge the gap and get creative between transitions by layering new drums under a vocal loop.

Remixing/Remaking a Track Using Sampler & Sequencer

Here is a performance from our Weekly DJ Mixes using the Pioneer DDJ RR and samples from Katy Perry – Swish Swish (Valentino Khan Remix). You can remix or remake a track and then layer new vocals over the top using the sequencer.

By combining different techniques such as hot cue play, effects, the sampler and sequencer, you can create unique routines using any Rekordbox controller.

Learn Advanced Routine

This tutorial explains how we planned and performed the routine featured in the above video. We have chosen to replicate the performance using the Pioneer DDJ RB. This shows that you can still perform on the most basic Rekordbox DJ controller.

    Is this feature able to be used with the XDJ RX2?

      When plugged into the Rekordbox software in Performance mode, yes!
